T O P I C R E V I E WRobert PearlmanLike their 1:72 cutaway space shuttle and 1:100 cutaway Saturn V, Fame Master/4D Vision is also releasing cutaway models of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module and Command/Service Module.Apollo 11 Lunar ModuleItem No.: 26129Apollo 11 Command/Service ModuleItem No.: 26130 No word yet on price or availability. (Not to be confused with FameMaster's other line of 4D puzzles, which also include Apollo spacecraft.)apolloprojecktOh, that is great! But I thought they will come also with a LM 1:24 version... or is it canceled? ObviousmanLooking at the sizes quoted, they must both be 1:32.Saturn VThose look pretty good so far. It will be interesting to see if it will have removable experiment package(s).I would have liked to have seen a J mission version with a rover folded up inside - perhaps even a removable rover with all of the little parts to place on it once it was removed. Jeff quote:Originally posted by Obviousman:Looking at the sizes quoted, they must both be 1:32. I'm not too sure. If you look up the CM and the LM on their website... it sure looks like the front of the boxes say 1:72. Not sure if that's the scale or if it pertains to something else. Jay ChladekHard to tell as these are just announced and the box art images are likely temporary ones (placeholders as it were). Hence the possible typo involving the scale. The CSM looks very much like the Monogram CSM kit in 1/32 and the stand looks identical to the one in the shuttle kit. I recall hearing that the LM was intended to be 1/25 scale, but in my opinion it would be a smart thing for 4D Vision to consider doing the pair in a single scale to allow for dioramas, plus if somebody gets one, they are more then likely going to get the other if it is in the same scale.arjunaAny idea where people are going to be able to order these?Retro RocketThey are 1/72, you can see it on the box. ObviousmanI know it says 1:72 on the box, but if you look at the size of the product (about 300mm in each case) then it has to be about 1:32.Lunokhod 2If you look at the dimension of the LM the scale is then 1/24 assuming that 290 mm is the height of the model. If it is the width then the scale is 1/32 but not 1/72.ObviousmanThat would make sense.Rick MulheirnApologies if I have missed it but how much will these be retailing for?Robert Pearlman quote:Originally posted by arjuna:Any idea where people are going to be able to order these? quote:Originally posted by Rick Mulheirn:Apologies if I have missed it but how much will these be retailing for? As noted in the original post, no word yet on price or availability.Retro RocketI'm really hoping it'd be in 1/32, a 1/32 LEM has been in development for so long it's painfull. I offered to finish the CAD the late John Ortmann had started, but the company making the model seemed to be too busy with Sci-fi models.I'll throw out one other possibility that I hope isn't correct. They are also offering a Lunar Rover in 1/35th scale and if you look closely at the astronaut driving the Rover, it's the same as the one inside the Apollo and LEM models. If the scale of the Rover is correct, I really doubt they'd make two different astronauts in 1/32 and 1/35, that's too close in scale. I've seen a few space models that have been gone in 1/70 and so doing it in 1/35 might be possible, lets hope not, it'd really be ashame to have a kit be that close because in 1/32 I see a lot of potential for super detailed after-market kitsdavidcwagnerI emailed FameMaster for info. Their reply indicates that the model is 1/24 (see below). Thanks for your letter and your inquiry. But we feel very regrettable to inform you that the items your pointed in below is not available, perhaps will be completed in next year, we will update the information then. By the way, the scale for this model should be 1/24, thanks!astroborgAny news on these two 1/24 4D models being released?
